Sunday 28th May will see the return of the London Pizza Festival to Borough Market, celebrating the pizza-mad metropolis which London has become over the last decade. On the back of two sell-out years, 2017’s stellar line-up will include some of the capital’s most-loved pizzerias who will throw their dough into the ring in a bid to be crowned festival favourite.

Handing the power to the people, 800 Londoners will cast their vote, with each judge receiving a quarter slice of pizza from the competitors before awarding their top choice with a coveted sticker vote. Pizza connoisseur Daniel Young, author of ‘Where to Eat Pizza’, the experts guide to the best pizza places in the world and founder of Young & Foodish, has curated the line-up including; Radio Alice in Hoxton, hailing from Berbere in Bologna who will showcase their sourdough pizza; the world-famous L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele, which brought its legendary outpost from Naples to Stoke Newington earlier this year; and 2015 champions Made of Dough from Brixton will return to try and reclaim their crown. Rounding the line-up off will be pizzerias on wheels, Napoli on the Road and Sud Italia, celebrated by knowing Londoners and Italian tourists alike and neighbourhood favourite Addommè in Streatham Hill, creating Neapolitan pizzas imbued with the sunshine of Capri and Ischia in the Gulf of Naples.

To quench your thirst during the pizza-eating marathon, there will be bottles of Ferrarelle sparkling mineral water and for those looking for something a little stronger, a selection of Craft Ales will be available from Skinner’s Brewery or for guests in need of a pizza reprieve, additional food will be on hand from Casa Cannoli and Sorbitium Ices.

Tickets are £28 and include admission to the festival, one drink and 6 quarter-pizzas – one from each competitor. Children under 12 will be admitted for free.

Attendees can book tickets for either of four overlapping sessions beginning at 12 noon, 1:30pm, 3pm & 4:30pm. Please note, table seating is limited and on a first-come first served basis.
